This house was a result of the clients’ clear vision: a sustainable family home with solar energy and automation, featuring open-plan living areas to maximize the stunning views of Windhoek. The design also prioritized intimate bedrooms with private balconies and en-suite bathrooms.
Although part of the owners’ residences in Namibia and overseas, the house primarily serves as a base for their children’s schooling in the capital. It seamlessly connects private platforms on the first floor with decked/lawn areas on the lower level, leading to the infinity pool and expansive 3000m² gardens, offering abundant spaces for sun-soaked or shaded relaxation under the large rubber trees.
Designed to provide security and privacy from city life, the house is buffered from neighbors by green space on the western boundary, harmonizing with the surrounding hills and mountains through its curved roofs, blending softly into the landscape.
Ultimately, each owner’s personal preferences contribute to the uniqueness of their home. A house should not only provide shelter but also be an extension of a family’s lifestyle, enhancing their quality of life. This house accomplishes both beautifully.
